Last month we had the honor of catering the 3rd annual “Goldens in the Gallery”, a wonderful event put on by the Knoxville organization Adopt a Golden Knoxville. This organization strives to promote safety and loving care for abandoned golden retrievers in the Knoxville area. This year we were lucky enough to be a part of this event and provide some tasty and creative dog-themed snacks for those who attended!
We had such a great time setting up and even creating our own outdoors themed decor. We put our own spin on the otherwise traditional pigs-in-a-blanket with our “Dogs in the Park” complete with BBQ sauce and honey mustard in dog bowls! Our finishing touch was adding some playful grass to the mix to model the park.
Since dogs love peanut butter, we couldn’t resist adding a peanut butter hummus dish!
Our own version of “beggin’ strips” candied bacon in an adorable doggie dish.
To create these “Cheesy Human Treats” we transformed hand-cut southern cheese straws into dog treat replicas!
An Adopt a Golden Knoxville event signature drink is the “Goldentini”! This simple but refreshing cocktail includes vodka, tuaca, lemon juice, orange juice, and agave nectar, giving it the perfect color to match the day’s golden theme.
At the end of the day, we donated all of our decor from the event to the Adopt a Golden Knoxville organization.
This is a special organization close to the Jones family’s heart as Bradford and his wife Christina adopted their golden retriever mix from Adopt a Golden Knoxville after he was abandoned at a shelter.
