Getting Ahead on the Holiday Season

June 18, 2020

Let the Re-Planning Begin

COVID Wedding

Engaged couples worldwide are facing an obstacle no one could have predicted…COVID-19. Some couples have opted to continue their scheduled weddings and said, “I do,” through private ceremonies while others have rescheduled. For those planning to reschedule, take a deep breath and use these helpful tips to guide you through the process.

Weekday Weddings

Traditionally, weddings are held on the weekend, but there is nothing traditional about the year 2020. With many couples attempting to reschedule their weddings, it can feel next to impossible to ensure that vendors are available. This is why having your wedding on a weekday can be more ideal, and most guests will go out of their way to celebrate with you. Switching to a weekday may also mean more cash in your pockets. If an important anniversary falls on a day during the week, it might be more sentimental to get married then, rather than whatever Saturday the venue has available.

Going Digital

Save-the-date cards and wedding invitations can cost a fortune. Using technology can be a cost-effective way to keep your guest in the know. If sending a Facebook notification is too casual for your taste, think about creating a wedding website to keep guests in the know. Encourage your guests to check your site for updates.

Down to the Details

This year has been a game-changer in so many ways. Social distancing can be hard to enforce when in the company of loved ones but is still something to consider, especially with at-risk relatives. Encourage guests to stay home if they are feeling unwell. You may even decide to live-stream the ceremony for guests who are unable to attend. When planning where to seat your guests, make sure to talk with your wedding planner or venue director to keep tables and chairs spaced appropriately. Keeping these details in mind will ensure the safety of your guests, so that you can enjoy your big day.
